Michael Owen is a contemporary painter, whose work is found in fine art galleries, as well as across neighborhoods and along the streets of the United States. Michael is the creator and lead artist of the Baltimore Love Project, a self-initiated project of 20 love-themed murals spread evenly throughout the city. Michael is also the artist behind one of the nation’s longest murals, spanning a quarter mile in length, located in Baltimore’s Highlandtown neighborhood. In October 2016, Michael completed a site-specific LOVE mural, directly across the street from Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, FL. He adorned his iconic LOVE hands with forty-nine uniquely designed orange blossom flowers, one to honor each of the victims of the tragic shooting.
Currently residing in Highlandtown, Michael is the founder and director of HOME Artist Residency, a live/work space for artists hone their crafts and build their bodies of work.
